Taste of Nova Scotia was launched in 1989, as a joint marketing initiative between Nova Scotia’s private and public sectors, to increase the use and awareness of local food products within the provincial foodservices industry, and, market Nova Scotia as a culinary destination. This partnership involved the foodservices and hospitality industries and the Nova Scotia Departments of Tourism, Culture & Heritage and the Nova Scotia Department of Agriculture & Fisheries. The continued success of the Taste of Nova Scotia is in part a result of the partnerships and alliances that the program has formed and fostered. These alliances include its membership, government partners and the foodservice and hospitality industries.
