Since my arrival in Halifax over 5 years ago, the single most important achievement I have witnessed in the restaurant industry throughout Nova Scotia is the commitment to offer top quality Maritime hospitality and cuisine. The creative culinary teams in the many kitchens throughout the province have not gone unnoticed as this province is now a very strong destination on the global map of culinary experiences.

This goal was not achieved overnight and certainly not without the expert guidance and day to day assistance of the Taste of Nova Scotia Society. This society has not only been an inspiration to the hospitality industry but also serves as a tool used in many operations, certainly the ones I am familiar with. Chef’s looking for new exciting local products, Sommeliers looking to extend their regional lists and managers looking for staff training assistance or networking opportunities have all turned to the Taste of Nova Scotia for assistance with rewarding results.

We here at the Five Fishermen are proud to fly the Taste of NS flag and very happy to reap the rewards that membership in this organization produces.
