Anyone who samples the culinary delights of Nova Scotia exclaims Nova delicious (Novalicious)! Nowhere can you sample food locally grown or caught that makes it to your table all in the same day. Add to that our great friendly customer service; you just have to keep coming back for more.

I choose to buy local because, I live in the beautiful Annapolis Valley, and I love getting my produce direct from the farms, you can not get any fresher. I also choose to buy locally, because without us, the farmers would not be able to survive on what the chain stores offer to pay.

I’m from Vancouver and we try to eat local here because of the amazing farms and fresh fish. There’s the option to do that in the Maritimes as well! I loved the Five Fishermen when I was there almost 10 years ago, especially the unlimited mussels bar! I will be back there next week and also looking forward to Fleur de Sel, which I have heard rave reviews about from friends there.

We visited Jost Vineyards while staying with my brother-in-law in Malagash. What a lovely experience. The tour of the winery was so informative and we were given a chance to sample some of the great wines. The staff were so friendly and helpful in suggesting some good wines to try. We will certainly go back again.

I always like to eat local food when I am travelling and Nova Scotia has some of the best foods available. The Taste of Nova Scotia guide book provides information on some of the best places to eat and we like to use it to decide on where we will go.

Nova Scotia has fantastic producers and I believe in buying local whenever possible. Why wouldn’t you support local growers/producers when the quality and taste is great, it’s good for the environment, and it means we’ll be able to feed ourselves in the future?

I chose Taste of Nova Scotia after reading about The Tanfled Garden in the August 21 Globe and Mail. Their jellies made my mouth water so that I immediately started planning my next vacation – to Nova Scotia!

Taste of Nova Scotia spreads the word, no matter what area of the Province I’m in, I always make an effort to follow the guide, and no one will ever be disappointed. My guide is a permanent fixture in my car, and we are always planning our next exciting adventure to one of the finest dining restaurants within a few hours from home.

I like to eat local. The taste is so much better! Add to that the fact that eating local is environmentally friendly and it’s a win/win situation.
