The Lohr Farm started with Bram and Koos emigrating from Holland and purchasing the present farm in 1960. Located in the fertile Annapolis Valley, nestled under “the Look Off” the farm is surrounded by natural beauty. Situated within 5 minutes of the ocean the farm enjoys a moderate climate and cool breezes propelled by the worlds highest tides. The farm changed hands from father to son in 1987 and is now farmed by Heather and John (Farmer John himself) and their 4 husky boys.
We farm 120 acres of herbs and vegetables. Herbs grown and marketed ourselves include savory and dill. The vegetables grown include cabbage, bunch carrots, bunch onions, and leeks. These are sold through Kings Produce Ltd. of which we are members. The mix of crops is constantly changing on a vegetable farm and in the recent past we have also grown parsley, beets, wheat, and straw flowers.
