The Herb Garden is located by the beautiful seaside village of Chester on Nova Scotia’s Lighthouse Route. We grow our herbs using organic growing methods to yield the healthiest and freshest produce for our line of uniquely flavoured oils and vinegars. Some of our tempting vinegar selections for Taste of Nova Scotia include Chive Blossom, Lemon and Garlic, Basil and Red Wine, Thai Spice and Mediterranean. Our delicious herbal-infused oils include Sunflower and Thyme, Cajun Spice, Italian Flavour, Pesto Flavour, Hot Pepper, and Rosemary and Roasted Garlic.

Originally from the la Vendéenne region on the Atlantic coast of France, Jean Marc Riant has been baking French-style bread for many years now. He started apprenticing to be a cuisinier/boulanger when he was 15, and has been perfecting his craft ever since.
Boulangerie la Vendéenne produces a large variety of organic artisanal breads and pastries. Baguettes, sourdough, rye, spelt, 7 grain, apricot & honey and more can be found year-round at the Halifax Farmers’ Market, Pete’s Frootique, Italian Market, Super Natural, Planet Organic, Salt Shaker and Mariposa. From mid-spring until late fall, Boulangerie la Vendéenne can be found at farmers’ markets in Lunenburg, Mahone Bay, Annapolis Royal, Hubbards and Wolfville.
